GENRES WE ESPECIALLY LOVE: Pop Punk, Emo, Post Hardcore, Alt-Rock, Dark Pop, Alt-Pop, Deathcore, Death Metal, Pop Rock, Easycore, Emo Rap, Grunge, Hardcore, Hard Rock, Metalcore, Nu-Metal, Shoegaze, Punk

This is NOT an all-inclusive list.

Even more important is does the artist make sense for MSM to cover? Not based on stats, but based on:

• is it a genre slightly outside of those, but the artist is especially interesting for some reason, like:
  • blending genres and breaking boundaries
  • would, or should, our readers care? why? are you prepared to bring that angle to the article?
  • underground and deserves more attention
